With the death toll in Africa fromthe
deadly Ebola virus nearing 1,000
and total cases over 1,700,what insanity
compelled U.S. officials to
bring infected patients to Atlanta’s
Emory University Hospital for treatment? Although
healthcare professionals are attempting to calm
public outrage with assurances that nobody is at
risk, their words of “just trust us” aren’t good
enough—especially with concerns that the virus
could be spread through the air. Fatality rates are
between 60% and 90%.
The Ebola virus is normally spread via contact
with infected bodily fluids, such as blood, vomit or
saliva. But on Nov. 15, 2012, BBC science reporter
Matt McGrath wrote: “Canadian scientists have
shown that the deadliest form of the Ebola virus
could be transmitted by air between species. In experiments,
they demonstrated that viruses were
transmitted from [caged] pigs to [caged] monkeys
without any direct contact between them.”
Nowthat confirmed cases have entered the U.S.,
a plethora of unknown variables confronts us.
Since Ebola is a virus, it could mutate and spread
across the U.S. like the virus that causes AIDS or
the deadly SARS respiratory virus. Even scarier,
Reuters revealed on Aug. 1 that in Africa, 100-plus
doctors and nurses, some protected by hazardousmaterial
suits, still managed to contract Ebola.
More than half of them have died already.
As it is now, hospitals across this country are unable
to cope with the growing incidence of antibiotic-
resistant bacteria. On Aug. 5, Dr. Forrest
Arnold, an epidemiologist at the University of
Louisville Hospital, warned that these deadly superbugs
hold the potential to wipe out the sick and
the elderly.
Amidst all thismadness,which undoubtedly has
proliferated due to rampant globalization, President
Barack Obama refused to cancel a swanky
summit of African political leaders in Washington,
D.C. Meanwhile, back in Africa, World Health Organization
Director Margaret Chan issued an ominous
“SOS” on Aug. 1.
“This outbreak is moving faster than our efforts
to control it,” she said. “If the situation continues
to deteriorate, the consequences can be catastrophic
in terms of lost lives and a high risk of
spread to other countries.”
Why would leaders in this country risk such a
devastating epidemic on our own shores?

GLOBALIZATION SCARY
Since publishing our first issue in
August 2001, we have regularly editorialized
on the dangers of globalization,
mostly as they relate to the loss
ofU.S. sovereignty, the killing of American
industry and jobs and the folly of
multiculturalism. However, on our
front page this week, we have an important
article that demonstrates just
howtruly reckless globalization can be
when it runs amok.
In this edition, AFP writer Victor
Thorn reports on Dr. Kent Brantly and
Nancy Writebol, the two American
medical workers who were infected
with the Ebola virus in Africa and then
quietly flown to Atlanta for treatment.
In early August, the two humanitarians
were picked up by chartered medical
airplanes in Liberia in the midst of an
Ebola outbreak, flown to Dobbins Air
Reserve Base in Marietta, Ga., loaded
into ambulances and then walked
through a busy hospital wearing biohazard
suits to rooms that had been
specially set up for them. In other
words, U.S. health officials agreed to
bring to theUnited States an incurable,
highly contagious virus with a 90%
mortality rate and then introduce it
into a major metropolitan area that is
home to a half-million Americans.
When specifically questioned by
reporters about the wisdom of doing
such a thing, public officials told us to
trust them, because they know what
they are doing. But regular readers of
AFP know all too well that U.S. health
authorities really don’t know what
they’re doing. Just take the growing
incidence of drug-resistant bacteria as
an example. These superbugs are
now responsible for infecting more
than 2 million Americans every year
and cause 25,000 deaths—and hospitals
have been unable to do a thing to
eradicate them. In fact, health authorities
appear to be losing the battle
against superbugs, so why intentionally
introduce a deadly virus into
the country?
The answer, of course, is because
advocates of globalization compel it.
It is just part of this misguided belief
that we are all one people, one planet,
one collective. But the truth is, we are
not part of a one-world order. We are
citizens of the United States.
Americans would be wise to tell
their elected representatives to shut
down these one-worlders who today
are not only trying to kill our domestic
industry—now they want to risk
your lives.

Obama Expands
Presidential Power

to institute amandatory
quarantine. According to reports,
the list nowincludes the
broadest set of triggers for
suspending American rights
that the country has ever seen.
This would not have to happen
if the U.S. did not import
Third-World diseases.

Amash is a liberty-minded Republican

help prevent a U.S. attack
against Syria and to challenge
NSA spying. He also was
among the few in the House
who on Aug. 1 voted against
new funding for the brutal Israeli
regime’s Iron Dome missile-

Bad Investment
The Obama administration
has spent nearly $11 billion
since 2009 to develop faster
passenger trains in the United
States, but the projects have
gone mostly nowhere.
Profiting from Vice
This year, Colorado expects
to collect about $114 million
in taxes and fees after legalizing
marijuana earlier in 2014.
Maryland, which recently liberalized
its gambling laws,
collects 61% on slot machine
revenue. Essentially, state
governments are legally becoming
the new mob bosses
and the new drug kingpins.
Fiddling in Africa
as America Burns
The White House forged
ahead with a three-day Washington
summit inviting delegations
fromnearly 50 African
countries, despite growing
fears about the outbreak of
the deadly Ebola virus. Already,
the presidents of Liberia
and Sierra Leone have canceled
due to the Ebola scare.
Allegedly, there is no cure for
Ebola, which causes hemorrhagic
fever that kills asmany
as 90% of the people it infects.
Obama’s second term has
brought about a more robust
focus on Africa. He made a
three-country trip to Africa
last summer and launched a
new “Power Africa” initiative
thatwill spend billions of U.S.
taxpayer dollars to bring electricity
to 20 million households
in sub-Saharan Africa,
while Americans suffer from
rampant illegal immigration,
an astronomical national debt,
unfair trade and high taxes.
Christian Genocide
Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) says
there is a genocide being perpetrated
against the Christians
of Iraq, and the White
House hasn’t said a word
about it, much less acted to
stop it. “In 2003 therewere 1.5
million Christians in Iraq.
Today there are only 250,000”
said Wolf. “It is genocide.” It’s
so bad that we are likely seeing
the end of Christianity in
the nation of Iraq.
Israel Targets
Civilians
Israel’s bombing of a school
on the morning of July 30
killed at least 16 schoolchildren
and wounded dozens
more. Later in the day Israel
bombed a market area killing
17 civilians andwounding 200.
The day before, theGaza power
plant was bombed leaving
90% ofGazawithout power. Israel
claims that these are all
mistakes but the evidence suggests
that Israel has been deliberately
attacking civilians,
including children. An estimated
1,800 Palestinians have
been killed already, mostly
women and children.
A Proud Redskin
Although theWashington Redskins
football team has been
stripped of its trademark registration,
team officials point
out that a poll taken a few
years ago shows that 90% of
American Indianswere not offended
by the name and even
took pride in it. Donald Wetzel,
whose father was chairman
of the Blackfeet Nation
and urged the use of the Indian
head logo in the early
1960s, said he was always
proud to be called a redskin
growing up. He did, however,
resent being called “chief.”
Will the Kansas City Chiefs be
the next victims of political
correctness?
Gaza Flotilla
A FreedomFlotilla is being organized
in Turkey to bring humanitarian
aid to the Hamascontrolled
Palestinian coastal
enclave. The flotilla being organized,
called the “Freedom
Flotilla II,” is the successor of
the Mavi Marmara flotilla
that sought to break Israel’s
blockade of the Gaza Strip in
May 2010.
Minoans Were
Caucasians
A new archeological study
based on DNA analysis from
37 newly discovered skeletons
reveals that theMinoanswere
Caucasian. The Minoan civilization
arose on the Greek island
of Crete in the 27th
century B.C. and flourished
until the 15th century B.C.
British archeologists who in
1900 discovered the Minoan
culture believed they originated
from Libya or Egypt.
The newstudy reveals that neolithic
ancestors of the Minoans
migrated from the
Caucasus area about 9,000
years ago. Indeed, the Minoans
shared the greatest
percentage of their mitochondrial
DNA variation with European

If we would all just listen to the
internationalists and globalists,
it would be easy to understand
that tariffs and other taxes on
imports are bad for free trade and the economy,
right? Well, no, wrong.
New tariffs imposed in late July by Washington
on Chinese solar panelmakers have created awindfall
for several solar panel manufacturers that have
already announced plans to open up new factories
inMichigan and NewYork, resulting in the hiring of
hundreds of work-starved Americans. And as clear
evidence that tariffs are an effectivemeasure when
wielded prudently and fairly, “at least one Chinese
manufacturer says it is considering joining them” in
building a U.S. factory.
The founding fathers understood the importance
of tariffs when they passed the first major
act in the new country, the Tariff Act of 1789, to
counteract the British Navigation Act of 1783,
which “imposed heavy tonnage dues upon American
ships in British ports.” The act stated, in part:
Whereas it is necessary for the support of government,
for the discharge of the debts of the
United States and the encouragement and protection
of manufactures, that duties be laid on
goods, wares and merchandise.
On July 25, the Department of Commerce
“slapped provisional duties of between 26% and 42%
on equipment made by several Chinese solar-panel
makers, over accusations that the companies
dumped their products into the U.S. at unfairly low
prices,” and “assigned tariffs of 165% to Chinese
firms that it said didn’t respond to its inquiries,” reported
The Wall Street Journal that evening.
“Dumping” is an economic term that refers to
predatory pricing, especially in the context of international
trade, and occurs whenmanufacturers
export a product to another country at a price either
below the price normally charged in its home
market or below its cost of production.
The Journal reported that in June, Commerce
“levied temporary tariffs ranging from 19% to 35%
on the same group of Chinese solar-panel companies,
which it accused of receiving unfair government
subsidies.” Although these tariffs are temporary,
they may become permanent if approved
by Commerce and the U.S. International Trade
Commission. The rulings are coming by year-end.
Ironically, the tariffs were instigated by a German
solar panel maker with a factory in Oregon.
That original complaint kicked off a two-year battle,
which is finally bearing fruit here at home.
Tariffs on China
CREATE JOBS in U.S.
In 2012, Commerce slapped tariffs of 24% to
36% on Chinese solar cells, which kicked off a
nasty trade brawl during which the Chinese were
accused of industrial espionage. In May of this
year, the Department of Justice accused several
Chinese military personnel of cyberattacks
against American companies, primarily Solar-
World Industries America, the U.S. subsidiary of
the German company mentioned above. Solar-
World said “its computers had been broken into,
and financial and legal documents stolen, after it
filed trade complaints against Chinese manufacturers.”
The president of SolarWorld Industries America,
when asked about his company’s complaint,
said simply, “We want a level playing field.”

Even as calls mount for new
Constitutional Convention,
patriots warn of dangers

In 2013, a national poll indicated that 85% of
Americans felt the federal government should
be required to balance its budget and reduce
the deficit. Since then, powerful interest
groups have been exploiting this genuine concern
as ameans ofmanipulating U.S. state senators
into convening the first Constitutional Convention
(Con-Con) since the nation’s founding in 1787.
One of the often-overlooked provisions of the
Constitution is Article V, which stipulates that a
two-thirds majority of state legislatures is required
before a convention can be called to propose
changes to the nation’s founding document. So far,
resolutions calling for a Con-Con to create a balanced-
budget amendment have been passed in 24 of
the required 34 states and several other states are
on the verge of joining in.
While proponents insist that a Con-Con may be
the only option left to rein in an out-of-control federal
government, criticswarn that it’s an extremely
dangerous proposition with very grave possible
consequences. Among those adamantly opposed is
Darren Weeks, founder of pro-liberty group the
Coalition to Govern America.
“Any time you start monkeying around with a
Constitutional Convention, you run the risk of opening
the whole thing up to be completely rewritten,”
saidWeeks during a recent interviewwith this AMERICAN
FREE PRESS reporter. “Those proposing this are
giving states a false sense of security. They tell them
they have a voice but fail to point out that the U.S.
Congress is ultimately left in charge of choosing the
method of ratification. That’s a problem. They’re putting
a crucial part of the decision-making into the
hands of those who got us into this mess.”
Weekswent on to say that according to Article V,
Congress has the option to bypass state legislatures
andmandate that each state instead convene a separate
convention for the ratifying process. This,
Weeks and others argue, opens the door to a host of
potential dangers. Not only could the convention
veer from its original agenda, but it can also alter
the process for ratification of its proposed amendments.
Evenmore frightening is the prospect of the
U.S. Constitution being scrapped altogether and replaced
by something insidious.
“We already have a proposed ‘Constitution for
the Newstates of America’ waiting in the wings,”
Weeks said. “That’s a document written by [FDR
confidant] Rexford Tugwell in the 1974 book, The
Emerging Constitution. If something like thatwas
to be put in place, all of our rights would be reduced
to privileges.What’sworse is that they could
be suspended in a declared state of emergency,
which is a big concern since the United States is always
in a state of emergency.”
One of the driving forces behind the Con-Con effort
is the American Legislative Exchange Council
(ALEC), which works with politicians at the state
level to write laws on behalf of large corporations.
Weeks finds this very telling as to the possible underlying
motivations behind a Con-Con.
“Privatization is a big scheme right now,”Weeks
said. “Corporations are basically buying and controlling
our government. Public works and infrastructure
projects that used to belong to the
American people are being taken over by multinational
corporations, and in many cases, foreign
companies. In terms of advancing corporatism, I
think there’s a lot going on behind the scenes of
these proposed conventions, and ALEC, in my
view, is a big part of that.”
Although Con-Cons, by their very nature, are
risky ventures,Weeks said that a convention called
to address the deficit presents its own unique set
of problems.
“It’s a recipe for disaster,” he said. “A balancedbudget
amendment provides them with an excuse
to raise taxes and [other measures that] could end
up throwing the entire country into economic
chaos . . . . There’s going to be a lot of uncertainty
aboutwhat kind of governmentwill come out at the
other end of the convention. Countries that hold
. . . U.S. debt could get nervous and end up dumping
the dollar and demanding payment on what’s
owed to them.”
Although Weeks is critical of a Con-Con, he is
not in opposition to Article V, which he maintains
has beenmisrepresented by thosewith ulteriormotives.
“They like to promote the first part [of Article V]
while completely ignoring the last sentence,” said
Weeks. “It reads: ‘no state,without its consent, shall
be deprived of its equal suffrage in the senate.’
Right there is your solution. Everyone is looking to
Washington for an answer, but the only way to get
the federal government back [under] control is
through the state and local level. That is how our
republic is supposed to work.”
Weeks concluded: “A Constitutional Convention
is not going to solve the deficit problem. What we
need is enforcement of the Constitution by its people
because no document can ever preserve our
rights without the involvement of the constituency.”

• Why does stock market drop on news portending economic gains for most people?

For the first time since 1997, the U.S.
economy just added at least 200,000
jobs permonth for sixmonths running.
GDP grew at a 4% annual clip between
April and June. The percentage of
Americans who describe the economy as “good”
has climbed to the highest level of President
Barack Obama’s presidency.
Who wouldn’t rejoice over these happy milestones
on the bumpy road to a real recovery?
Wall Street. On July 31, within hours of the release
of a bunch of sunny indicators, stocks sank
more than they had on any day since early February.
The decline wiped out all gains the S&P 500
stock index had racked up over the month.
Global instability contributed to the sharp drop,
but so did investors’ fretting over indications that
workers are finally getting higher wages andmore
benefits.
And why exactly doesWall Street tank on news
portending economic gains for most Americans?
Don’t people with extra money in their pockets
boost the economy when they spend more freely?
Isn’t it something worth celebrating?
Not in an economy that caters to the rich.
You see, there are practical implications of the
chasm between rich and poor for the conduct of
commerce. For several years, retailers have increasingly
doted on the affluent, the most alluring
segment of the $10 trillion consumer spending
market.
Consider how U.S. households differ. The richest
20% of Americans now pocket more than half
of the nation’s income. The typical income for this
kind of family tops $150,000, triple the norm for
all of us. Together, these “high-value customers”
(to borrow a phrase from LuxuryDaily.com) account
for about 40% of all U.S. spending.
And the cost of real luxury has gotten a divorce
fromreality. A quilted Chanel handbag can set you
back $4,900. An ultra-thin Piaget Altiplano watch
could siphon $95,000 from your wallet.
There’s still some money made from selling
cheap stuff to the poor and working class. That’s
why the four biggest U.S. retailers are big-box behemoths
Wal-Mart, Costco and Target, along with
the Kroger supermarket chain. Even the very bottom
of the food chain, the people whose households
eke by on $30,000 or less a year, account for
a stagnant yet sizable $1 trillion bare-bones consumption
market.
For them, dollar stores can be a bigger draw
than the big boxes. They’re in a bind and so are
the companies relying on their purchases.
“Customers are under pressure,” Dollar Tree
Chief Executive Bob Sasser told The Wall Street
Journal. “Unfortunately, that’s one reason why the
space continues to grow.”
In a telling sign of today’s increasingly unequal
times, Dollar Tree is merging with Family Dollar
Stores. The No. 2 and No. 3 companies in this cutthroat
market want to team up to compete with
their No. 1 competitor, Dollar General. Together,
they’ll fend off bids byWal-Mart and its ilk to gobble
up some of their territory with new smallerbox
establishments.
Clearly, times are tough for retailers opting to
sell stuff to the rest of us. But they’ve got it figured
out for themost part andWall Street worships predictability.
Think of all the economic models and assumptions
that would be shattered if the drive toward
wealth concentration were to take a detour toward
shared prosperity.
Of course, financial experts won’t say these
things out loud. Instead, they’ll mutter about inflation
and freak out over signs that labor markets
are growing tighter. Are those really big concerns
in light of this protracted war on consumers?

Right before the congressional August
recess in Washington, Texas Gov. Rick
Perry (R) highlighted the failure of congress
to pursue meaningful border security.
On July 31, Perry stated: “It’s beyond belief that
Congress is abandoning its post while our border
crisis continues to create humanitarian suffering,
and criminal aliens still represent a clear threat to
our citizens and our nation.”
Perry was reacting to the fact that the House, on
Aug. 1, passed, 223-189, a supplemental appropriations
bill that includes “border security.” Just one
Democrat, Rep. Henry Cuellar (Texas), supported
the measure.
But the Senate recessed July 31 without passing
its own border bill. And President Obama pledged
to veto the House measure (H.R. 5230) anyway—
even if both chambers were to pass a version of
this legislation as part of a supplemental package
to address the border crisis. Obama said the bill
falls short of the $3.7 billion he had requested.
Perry added: “Congress and the president have
a duty to address our border security issues without
further delay . . . Congress should not go into
recess until the job is completed.”
On July 3, Perry addressed the U.S. House Committee
on Homeland Security. That committee actually
visited the border city of McAllen, Texas.
On July 21 Perry decided to deploy up to 1,000
Texas national guard troops to the border. These
troops support Operation Strong Safety, which
combats criminal activity in the border region resulting
from lax border security.
A news release from Perry’s office noted: “Since
2008, more than 203,000 criminal aliens have been
booked into Texas county jails.” According to Perry,
these individuals have committed “more than
640,000 crimes in Texas alone, including more than
3,000 homicides and nearly 8,000 sexual assaults.”
Perry’s release added: “There can be no national
security without border security, and Texans have
paid too high a price for the federal government’s
failure to secure our border.”
Look for your representatives in their home districts
during their recess and firmly communicate
your views on border security. You can still call their
Washington and local offices during the recess.

Fiscal Madness:
‘Iron Dome’ Funding Passes
Of course, Congress could not leave for its recess without
approving $225million in additional funding for Israel’s
“Iron Dome” missile defense—which Israel uses
to further minimize the already paltry impact that
Hamas’s rockets have on Israel. The Zionist regime’smodern armaments
are vastly superior to those of Hamas. Hamas has no
air force, nomissile defenses, no central command, no navy etc.
Yet, Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) headed home for his Aug. 5
primary against well-funded pro-Zionist challenger Brian Ellis
with one last touchy vote: Amash joined seven other House colleagues
(four Democrats and three Republicans) on Aug. 1 in
voting against the $225million for Iron Dome. It was the House’s
last vote before the five-week recess.
Amash, who claims to support Iron Dome, explained his vote
on fiscal grounds: “We’re supposed to offset all new spending
with cuts elsewhere. Congress did so with the border bill (which
is for our own country), but not with the additional Iron Dome
funding. Our debt is approaching $18 trillion. Even our own defense
spending is offset, so this was a clear violation of our
rules.”
Meanwhile, the Senate passed a resolution calling on the Congolese
government to resolve a “humanitarian crisis” in which
some 1,000 adopted Congolese kids have been prevented from
joining their adoptive parents in the U.S. However, Congress uttered
nary a peep about the murdered, gravely injured and orphaned
children of Palestine under the relentless, brutal assault
of Israeli forces. That is the real humanitarian crisis.
In late July, the co-leaders of the
House Ways and Means Subcommittee
on Trade sent a letter to President
Obama complaining that Japan and
Canada refuse to make satisfactory cuts
to the tariffs those nations charge at the
water’s edge. Subcommittee members
argue that this creates an unfair playing
field for U.S. goods exported to those two
countries under the Trans-Pacific Partnership,
or TPP.
The letter was sent by Subcommittee
Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and
RankingMember Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.)
to convey their concerns over the status
of agriculture-market access talks with
Japan and Canada in TPP negotiations—
especially the effort by these countries to
stop short of the complete elimination of
tariffs charged against U.S. foods and
goods entering those nations.
The letter to Obama states: “Specifically,
Japan is seeking to exempt numerous
tariff lines fromcomplete elimination
with the U.S. If accepted, this unprecedented
and objectionable offer would significantly
limit access for U.S. farmers and
ranchers to the Japanese market.”
The letter adds: “Furthermore, caving
to Japan’s demandswould set a damaging
precedent, compromising the U.S. negotiating
position with future TPP members.
We urge you to hold Japan and Canada to
the same high standards as other TPP
partners. Otherwise, congressional support
for a final TPP agreement will be
jeopardized.”
Instead of prodding Japan, Canada and
other allies to lower their tariffs, the U.S.
could raise its own tariffs to roughly the
same level to achieve fair and balanced
trade with proper protection of domestic
industry. But the grand irony is that if
Canada, Japan and other nations won’t
abolish all their tariffs, then U.S. congressional
support for the TPP may fade.
So, call your lawmakers at 202-224-
3121 or 225-3121. Tell them that the best
TPP is no TPP. And remember: Abolishing
the NAFTA and CAFTA trade deals, while
avoiding the TPP, would reduce the flood
of economic refugees illegally entering
America, something else President Obama
doesn’t care about.

It’s official: Right now the No. 1 rule in Hollywood
is that you can talk about anything political—
except Israel’s attack on the Christians
and Muslims in Gaza, Palestine. That’s
not a conspiracy theory from critics of Israel
or Jew-hating neo-nazis. Instead, that was the thesis
of a candid article in the Aug. 1 edition of The
Hollywood Reporter (THR), influential trade journal
of the entertainment industry.
In fact, the article was bluntly titled: “Rule 1:
Talk About Anything Political in Hollywood . . . Except
Gaza.”
That such an articlewould appear in amagazine
considered “must” reading for
those in show business was a notso-
subtle warning that anyone
who violates that rule is in for a
tough road ahead.
Noting several celebrities had
expressed sympathies for the
plight of Gaza, THR commented
ominously that—“for nowat least”
—powerful Jewish moguls in Hollywood
were simply dismissing those entertainers
as being “uninformed.” However, continue speaking
out this way and there will be trouble.
Adding breezily that it is commonplace for Hollywood
executives “to be on a first name basiswith
prominent Israeli politicians and business leaders,”
THR cooed that this intimacy with Israel explains
why so many Hollywood figures who otherwise
havemuch to say about a lot of political issues are
silent about Gaza—with only a few exceptions.
Those exceptions—which caused a stir in Jewish
circles and a big buzz in Hollywood—included
such well-known names as husband-and-wife acting
team Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz (both
Academy Awardwinners) and two-time Oscar-winning
director Pedro Almodavor, who joined dozens
of fellow Spanish actors, directors, musicians and
writers in an open letter condemning the assault
on Gaza, describing Israel’s policies as “genocide.”
Meanwhile, American actor Jon Voight jumped
into action, charging Bardem, Ms. Cruz and their
colleagues with “inciting anti-Semitism,” which, of
course, brought denials from the accused. Ms.
Cruz rushed to explain shewas “not an expert” and
shouldn’t be misunderstood.
Voight has spent his own entire career vocally
proving his love for Israel, well aware it is common
knowledge among Hollywood powerbrokers that
his late uncle—the legendary political writer
Joseph P. Kamp—was an outspoken critic of Jewish
intrigues, particularly targeting the notorious
Anti-Defamation League, a big player in Hollywood
affairs. Kamp—by theway—was a contributing editor
to The Spotlight, AFP’s forerunner. Voight’s
equally politically outspoken daughter, actress Angelina
Jolie, has made it so big she is now a member
of the Council on Foreign
Relations.
THR reported that powerful
Hollywood kingpin HaimSaban—
an Israeli citizen—drafted a statement
responding to Israel’s critics
that was “so strong” that—after
being sent to his publicist for review—
was never issued. In short:
Saban is really mad, and Israel’s
critics betterwatch out. After all, billionaire Saban,
who has said his number one concern is protecting
Israel, puts his money where his mouth is,
bankrolling endeavors—such as the Saban Center
at the Brookings Institution in Washington—that
promote the Zionist agenda.
In two other Gaza-related “scandals” actress Selena
Gomez dared to say: “It’s about humanity. Pray
for Gaza,” on her website and popular hip-hopper
Rihanna posted “Free Palestine” to the Internet.
After coming under fire, Miss Gomez assured fans
she wasn’t taking sides and Rihanna deleted her
own post eight minutes after posting it.
Comic Jackie Mason—a trained rabbi—told
conservative radio host Aaron Klein that entertainment
industry critics of Israel come from“anti-
Semitic, low-class backgrounds where a Jew is the
most disgusting thing in the world to them.”
THR quoted Ken Solomon, CEO of the Tennis
Channel—whose grandparents lived in Israel.
Solomon who audaciously said, in response to Rihanna
and the others: “I think there’s a place for
celebrities to get involved, whether it’s the environment
or social issues. But getting involved in

she’s been studying this, she shouldn’t be talking
about it.” In other words, in foreign policy, unless
you’re pro-Israel, just shut up.
Jewish comic Joan Rivers would have no problem
with that argument. Believing Israel is imperiled,
she once said: “I worry they’re going to wipe
it off the Earth. I only hope they [Israel]will take us
all with them, because Jews shouldn’t go quietly
this time. If they’re going to kill us, we’re going to
kill you right back.”
Those violent comments, it seems, are acceptable,
since, after all, Ms. Rivers is Jewish and pro-

Although the United States, Britain and
their media allege with certainty that
pro-Russian separatists with the support
of Russian President Vladimir
Putin were the ones who shot down
Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, they offer no real
evidence to back up their claims. Why has Putin
been accused of being responsible for this tragedy?
The charges that the missiles could only have
come from Russia are totally unfounded since
Ukraine has possessed BUK M-1 missiles—allegedly
used to take down the jetliner—since the
Soviet era and has been documented to have had
themin the Donetsk region of Ukraine at the time of
the crash. Therefore, Russia’s presumed guilt is
completely unfounded; Kiev could have just as easily
been responsible.
So, why is the West so quick to blame
Russia and demonize Putin? One reason
might be religion. On May 13, the Anti-
Defamation League (ADL) released the
findings of its “ADL Global 100,” a worldwide
study of “anti-Semitic” attitudes. The
unprecedented survey was conducted in
over 102 countries and included 53,100
participants, who represented 88% of the
world’s adult population. What it found
was shocking—at least to the ADL.
The ADL announced that one in four
adults worldwide are “deeply infected with anti-Semitic
attitudes.” Furthermore, nearly half have
never heard of the “Holocaust.”
The ADL presented respondents with 11 statements
and asked themwhether each was “probably
true” or “probably false.” If someone answered that
six ormore of the statements were “probably true,”
they were counted as harboring anti-Semitic attitudes.
The statements included, “Jews have too much
power in international financial markets,” “Jews
have too much control over the global media,”
“Jews have too much control over the U.S. government”
and “Jews have toomuch control over global
affairs.”
According to this survey, the nation of Greece is
themost anti-Semitic country in Europe by far, with
69% of Greeks labeled anti-Semites. Poland is second
with 45% and Bulgaria third with 44%. France
scored 37%.
Eastern Europe (34%) scored more anti-Semitic
than Western Europe (24%). Christians in Catholic
and Eastern Orthodox countries are more likely to
harbor anti-Semitic views than those in Protestant
countries, the survey said. In contrast, Protestant
countries such as the UK scored 8%, Sweden only
4% and the United States 9%.
Alarmed about such high anti-Semitism in
Greece, ADL top kapo Abe Foxman flew to Greece
to pressure the Greek government to do something
about the urgent problem. He found that Greece’s
nationalist party, Golden Dawn, is greatly responsible
for spreading anti-Semitism in Greece, as is the
Greek Orthodox Church.
Foxman insisted that Golden Dawn be declared
a criminal organization. For his part, the Greek
prime minister followed orders by also locking up
Golden Dawn’s most prominent leader not yet imprisoned,
Ilias Kasidiaris, in jail.

Christianity would be on the far right side, followed
by Catholicism, then Protestantism, Christian Zionism,

In Orthodoxy, Jews are referred to as “Christ
killers” in reference to the Gospels’ account that
they were responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus
Christ, a claim many Jews today reject and most
Protestants downplay. Yet, it is clearly written in the
Gospels that Pilate washed his hands and the
Jews, who demanded Jesus be crucified, accepted
the blame. Essentially, the very
Gospels—the creed of Christianity—are now
considered anti-Semitic.
The Jewish holy book, however, the Talmud,
continues to refer to the VirginMary as “a
whore” and Jesus as “a bastard”who is “boiling
in excrement.” No cries about “anti-Christianism”
here by Foxman. Some chutzpah.
Putin is a devout Orthodox Christian who
defends Jesus and since Russia is by far the
largest Orthodox country, it is believed that
he has been targeted by the Jews in the same way
that Czar Nicholas was targeted a hundred years
ago by Jewish Bolsheviks.
Moscow has been called the Third Rome since
Constantinople fell to the Turks in 1453.
Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russians
have returned to Orthodoxy en masse and today
half of Russians are practicing Orthodox Christians
with Putin playing an active role in supporting the
church. Some fear he could unite Eastern Europe
again in a Pan-Orthodox Union.
Of course, the attack on Putin also has to do with
geopolitical reasons, including the West’s ambition
to take Ukraine out of Russia’s sphere of influence
and bring it under NATO control, while undermining
Russia’s domination of Europe’s energy supply
for the benefit of Western Big Oil.

“We call on Orthodox Christian leaders to begin

the centuries, and today, in some countries
where these churches are prominent, Jews are confronted

Christianity at Nicaea in A.D. 325. The original
Gospels, first written in Greek, have been used unaltered
ever since.

The Zionist power elite are masters of
the Big Lie. They have convinced the
credulous of this world that unbridled
destruction is a “targeted attack” and
that the massacre of thousands of
mostly unarmed Palestinian children, women and
men is “self-defense.” Were Syria, Iran—or even
France—to attempt such a thing, international outrage
and intervention would be a foregone conclusion.
But terrorist, genocidal Israel gets a free
pass.Why? Because it controls and directs the language
describing its atrocities. In the face of multiplying
Israeli crimes against humanity, however,
the truth may finally be getting the upper hand.
As of Aug. 7, the month-long murder rampage
by Israeli military in Gaza, “Operation Protective
Edge,” has claimed more than 1,875 lives of besieged
Palestinians—three-quarters were civilians,
says the UN—and left nearly 10,000 injured, tens
of thousands homeless, thousands out ofwork and
hundreds more imprisoned.
One reason Israeli Prime Minister and massmurderer
Benjamin Netanyahu and members of
his government of sociopaths do not already dangle
fromthe gallows can be found in the Israel Project’s
report, titled “2009 Global Language Dictionary.”
This report is a two-fold propaganda manual
for controlling the reporting and discussion of Israel’s
ethnic cleansing of Palestinian natives from
the Holy Land. On one hand, it provides Israeli officials
with descriptive language, which earns the
Zionist government support frommost Americans
and many Europeans. On the other, in addressing
Israelis, the dictionary itself presents a narrative
of events, which contains significant fiction presented
as “facts.”
The point of the manual is not to convey truth;
it is to assist in achieving nearly blind, emotionbased
support for Israel from Americans and Europeans.
The author, Dr. Frank Luntz, encourages
Jews to repeat even falsehoods if they serve the Israeli
war against Palestinians, Iranians and others.
He announces at the outset: “[I]t’s not what you
say that counts. It’s what people hear.”
A few illustrations prove the point.
The Zionist dictionary-inspired narrative claims
that Israel wants peace with its neighbors, possesses
the “most moral military in the world” and
deplores and limits civilian casualties. Israel is ostensibly
a “democratic” and peace-loving country,
America’s “best friend” in the region—the last defense
hindering inhuman, barbaric Arab terrorists
and death inU.S. streets. Tiny Israel can only defend
itself against overwhelming enemieswith billions of
U.S. dollars. Israelis are prepared to make peace
“today” with “reasonable” Palestinians—if it can
find any. Meanwhile, a modest “security fence” and
targeted defense raids on “terrorists” protect the Israeli
people. It is all “for the children” on both sides.
The truth, as we often report, is far uglier. Israel
is a Jewish, apartheid, racist state that persecutes
Arabs, Sephardic Jews and frequently non-Jewish
foreigners. It has a long history of subverting U.S.
interests, examples being the USS Liberty attack,
the Jewish Defense League, AIPAC and Israeli spy
Jonathan Pollard. “Peace” to the Israeli government
means “the absence of Arabs.” A “reasonable”
Palestinian capitulates to Israeli demands.
Miles of prison walls and machine gun turrets
isolate Palestinians from the world, from family,
from work, from hope. Israelis steal Palestinian
lands and attack Palestinian families, homes, farms,
factories, schools, hospitals, churches, mosques
and refugee shelters while they are inhabited. Israelis
poison wells and destroy crops. Israeli Defense
Forces deliberately target Palestinianwomen
and children because they pose a demographic “existential
threat” to Israel. To Netanyahu and his
thugs, all Palestinians appear as “terrorists,” because
they make a token defense of their homes.
This time, however, a backlash against Israeli
terrorism is building—more overseas than in the
United States. Tens of thousands of concerned
people worldwide have demonstrated against Israeli
atrocities, and the press has even reported it.
Growing numbers of prominent Jewish voices, like
those of Noam Chomsky and journalist Max Blumenthal,
are speaking out for Palestinians. Israel’s
anti-Zionist group Jews Against Genocide indicts
Israeli war crimes more eloquently than we could.
While the Zionist-controlled media still claim
the vast majority of Americans “support” Israel,
the truth appears otherwise. A recent Google Consumer
Survey showed that nearly 60% of Americans
polled did not have much accurate information
about Israelimilitary actions against Palestinians.
The remaining 40% split their opinions in
half. Try to learn that fromthe lapdog presstitutes.
Even in Israel, growing disgust and outrage over
the government’s anti-Palestinian violence, and elsewhere
a burgeoning Boycott Divestment Sanctions
movement against Israeli apartheid, have forced officials
to propagandize their own people. Knesset
member EfraimSneh compared the “brainwashing”
of Israelis to the work of Nazi Joseph Goebbels. A
number of Israel Defense Force reservists courageously
have refused to fight against Palestinians.
For the first time, Senate Republicans have blocked
emergency military aid to Israel.
These are hopeful signs that must motivate us
to keep up the pressure for peace in Palestine.

The numbers are genuinely staggering.
According to a June 19 United Nations
report, refugees worldwide have now
topped 51 million. This type of mass
displacement hasn’t been seen since
Europe, Russia, Asia and Africa were torn apart in
World War II.
Unfortunately, this humanitarian crisis, being
experienced in so many impoverished foreign
countries, is being used as an emotional weapon
to justify scores of illegal aliens flooding across the
U.S. southern border from Mexico and Central
America. But despite all the heartstrings being
pulled, these situations are vastly different for one
primary reason: In Afghanistan, Syria and Somalia
residents continue to flee because of war, not
merely to exploit the wealth and generosity of
American taxpayers.
AFP has pointed out in previous articles thatU.S.
Border Patrol agents have accused the Obama administration
of orchestrating themigration of nearly
100,000 Central American children, gang-bangers
and other criminals into Texas and neighboring
states. That’s why it’s no surprise that immigration
critics contend that the recent rash of unlawful border-
crossers overrunning the U.S is part of a clandestine
plan to erode American sovereignty.
To obtain more insights, on July 29 AFP interviewed
Daniel Wordsworth, CEO of the American
Refugee Committee.
When asked about legitimate causes of the
global refugee crisis, Wordsworth responded, “It
all reverts back to war, escalating violence, tribal
factions and infighting, religious differences, persecution
and ethnic cleansing.”
There are no civil wars being waged in Guatemala,
Honduras or El Salvador at themoment, and
nearly all these countries’ residents share Catholicism
as a common religion.
In stark contrast to a million Iraqi Christians,
who have been uprooted over the past decade,
Central America hasn’t been consumed by Israelibacked
wars or religious division.
Since no reports of genocidal slaughters have
emerged from Latin America, none of the abovecited
prerequisites applies to this latest surge of
exiled Hispanics that merely want to exploit the
U.S. social welfare system. Instead, amessage had
been conveyed byWhite House officials that America’s
southwest border is open, and anyone from
Central America that sneaks through will be allowed
to stay.
Compare the situation on the U.S. border with
what’s transpiring in Jordan.Wordsworth informed
AFP: “Because of Syria’s ongoing war, 40% of
[Syria’s] population, or around 9 million people,
have exited that country.Many of themhavemade
their way to Jordan, where this disaster is creating
special challenges.”
Adding more details, Wordsworth continued:
“These refugees are causing a huge strain in Jordan.
Most people don’t know that 70% of Syrians
are staying in the homes of Jordanians. But these
host families can’t keep absorbing them. So we’re
now seeing several camps in Jordan that contain
over 100,000 refugees.”
The bottom line is, when coupled with an outbreak
of deadly diseases, Americans must realize
that the hordes of illegals swamping the United
States aren’t refugees, but instead political chess
pieces being manipulated under Obama’s multicultural
agenda to tear down the last vestiges of
America.

Suspicious of U.S.

Poland has joined the Czech Republic
and Slovakia in pondering a defense
strategy independent of NATO and U.S.
security guarantees of dubious value.
“The Polish-American alliance isn’t
worth anything,” Polish ForeignMinister Radoslaw
Sikorski said recently on a secretly recorded audiotape
released to the world by what he calls
“criminal gangs”—likely intelligence agencies trying
either to weaken the Polish government or
strengthen America’s position in Europe.
Sikorski went on to predict that Poland may
find itself in a military confrontation with Russia
or Germany. “We’re going to get into conflict with
Germany [or] with Russia, and we’ll think that’s all
great because we helped America,” he said.
The remarks came just a week after NATO
members Czech Republic and Slovakia refused to
allow President Barack Obama to station U.S.
troops on their soil. Poland and Estonia accepted
a small, rotating contingent of U.S. troops.
Such skepticism of U.S. military power has
weakened NATO, which expanded to include several
Eastern European nations in the 1990s, in the
face of conflict in Ukraine.
Poland fears that Russia, which governs what

Poland’s northeast border, may wish for a similar
régime changewithin its borders.Germany has generally
leaned toward Russia, a major trading partner,
and has territorial claims on Poland, whose
borders were expanded westward in 1945 at German
expense. About 13 million Germans were expelled
from their homes after that seizure, part of a
communist plot to exterminate the German race.
In his comments, Sikorski made clear what he
thought of America’s pledge to defend Poland: “It’s
detrimental because it creates a false sense of security.”
But after Sikorski’s remarks went public,
Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski quickly
disavowed them, claiming that Poland wishes to
strengthen its U.S. ties.
America, and the Zionist internationalismit represents,
is in retreat across the world. Nationalist
governments in Russia, China and Iran have been
pushing the sphere of American-Zionist influence
steadily backward, with Russia going so far as to
establish bases in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela
and deploying military forces near U.S. borders.

President Barack Obama announced in
early August that he was imposing yet
another round of sanctions on Russia,
this time targeting financial, arms and
energy sectors. The European Union,
as it has done each time, quickly followed suit.
These sanctions will not produce the results
Washington demands, but they will hurt the
economies of the United States and the EU, as well
as Russia.
These sanctions are, according to the Obama
administration, punishment for what it claims is
Russia’s role in the crash ofMalaysia Airlines flight
17 and for what the president claims is Russia’s
continued arming of separatists in eastern
Ukraine. Neither of these reasons makes much
sense because neither case has been proven.
The administration began blaming Russia for
the downing of the plane just hours after the crash,
before an investigation had even begun. The administration
claimed it had evidence of Russia’s involvement
but refused to showit. Later, the Obama
administration arranged a briefing by “senior intelligence
officials” who told the media that “we
don’t know a name, we don’t know a rank and
we’re not even 100% sure of a nationality,” of who
brought down the aircraft.
So Obama then claimed Russian culpability because
Russia’s “support” for the separatists in east
Ukraine “created the conditions” for the shootdown
of the aircraft. That is a dangerous measure
of culpability considering U.S. support for separatist
groups in Syria and elsewhere.
Similarly, the U.S. government claimed that Russia
is providing weapons, including heavy weapons,
to the rebels in Ukraine and shooting across
the border into Ukrainian territory. It may be true,
but again the U.S. refuses to provide any evidence
and the Russian government denies the charge. It’s
like Iraq’s WMDs all over again.
Obama has argued that the Ukrainians should
solve this problem themselves and therefore Russia
should butt out.
I agree with the president on this. Outside countries
should leave Ukraine to resolve the conflict
itself. However, even as the U.S. demands that the
Russians de-escalate, the United States is busy escalating.
In June, Washington sent a team of military advisors
to help Ukraine fight the separatists in the
eastern part of the country. Such teams of “advisors”
often include special forces and are usually a
slippery slope to direct U.S. military involvement.
Just recently, Obama requested congressional
approval to send U.S. troops into Ukraine to train
and equip its national guard. This, even though in
March, the president promised no U.S. boots on the
ground in Ukraine. The deployment will be funded
with $19 million from a fund designated to fight
global terrorism, signaling that the U.S. considers
the secessionists in Ukraine to be “terrorists.”
Are U.S. drone strikes against these “terrorists”
and the “associated forces” who support themthat
far off?
The U.S. has already provided the Ukrainian
military with $23 million for defense security, $5
million in body armor, $8 million to help secure
Ukraine’s borders, several hundred thousand
ready-to-eat meals as well as an array of communications
equipment. Congress is urging the president
to send lethal military aid and the administration
is reportedly considering sending realtime
intelligence to help target rebel positions.
But let’s not forget that this whole crisis started
with the U.S.-sponsored coup against Ukraine’s
elected president back in February. The U.S. escalates
while it demands that Russia de-escalate.
How about all sides de-escalate?
Even when the goals are clear, sanctions have a
lousy track record. Sanctions are acts of war.
These sanctions will most definitely have a negative
effect on the U.S. economy aswell as the Russian
economy. Why is “winning” Ukraine so
important to Washington? Why are they risking a
major war with Russia to deny people in Ukraine
the right to self-determination? Let’s just leave
Ukraine alone.

Headlines read: “A vigorous economy
is emerging across the USA.” Other
headlines proclaim: “Growth is more
robust than estimated.” All of this
hoopla comes as the government officially updated
its estimate of growth for 2015.
In addition, the government is predicting
“a great increase in the total output of
goods and services.” Government personnel predict
that the economy is getting so good that the
Federal Reserve will start raising interest rates
by March 2015.
One might think that our last depression is finally
over. Yes, I said it.We’re in a depression, readers.
It’s a recession when your friends and
neighbors lose their jobs, but it’s a depressionwhen
you’re unemployed. I don’t think so.
While all these three-piece-suit, think-tank experts
keep bragging about so-called good times,
the stockmarketmade a 300-plus point adjustment
downward to grab some of that hopeful investment
we’ve been encouraged to make. But that’s
not my biggest concern. In the back pages of the
paper with those same headlines bragging about
this so-called economic bonanza there appeared a
small, hidden report revealing that the massive
U.S. trade deficit increased again, as imports continued
to grow and undercut our exports by growing
numbers.
Let’s tell it like it is: When you buy more than
you sell, you go belly-up. It’s as simple as that. Forget
about all the propaganda and start compiling
the facts, not just the misleading headlines.
One tidbit of concern is the fact that a newstudy
released by the respected Urban Institute states
that “more than 35% of all Americans have debts
and unpaid bills that have been turned over to aggressive
debt collection agencies.” Think about it.
More than one out of every three Americans is
being pursued by debt collectors. Some economic
explosion.
The truth is, our economy is so fragile that only
stimulus money can give it a cyclical bump. It’s
stagnant and our government leaders are in denial,
attempting the same, uselessmethodologies to try
and reverse this economic decline.
Budget deficits, trade deficits, massive individual
and government debt keep escalating with no
end in sight. The only realwindfall is growing in the
pockets of private sector bankers, many of whom
are overseas with long tentacles grabbing our cash
with utter disregard for our nation’s welfare.
We are to blame, because the American people
have allowed our government to put us behind the
eight ball by delegating our constitutionally mandated
power to “coin our money and establish the
value thereof” to a bunch of parasites who have literally
stolen our great nation.

Debt Collectors Pursue 35% of Americans

Many self-described populists—I
count myself among them—are unwavering
non-interventionists. Real
populists rightly oppose all forms of
military aggression and intervention,
especially the pre-emptive wars that imperial
Washington launches on false pretenses. One of
many past “monsters” to destroy—Saddam’smythical
weapons of mass destruction (WMDs)—was
nothing more than an Arabian mirage conjured up
by the Western foreign policy establishment.
But the big media’s mere mention of WMDs
stirred up the baffled Western masses, who are
easily led into backing endless interventionistwars
that have no proven national-defense purpose.
And when you live in a nation that patrols the
entire globe and sports over 800 bases in about 130
nations—and is at war perpetually—you realize
that just about any distant conflict where innocents
are reportedly threatened or dying can become
a pretense for more war on the part of the
United States of America.
Indeed, as the Israeli army blows men, women
and babies away in perhaps the most wicked military
operation of this century—which easily rivals
all recorded chapters of sheer human cruelty—the
U.S. government suddenly is an island unto itself.
Congressmembers, PresidentObama, our “diplomats”
and virtually anyone else you can name will
not, or dares not, confront this Zionist evil directly,
nor will they do anything effective against it. Only
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon voiced some
sanity: “It’s time for an immediate unconditional
ceasefire. . . . Gaza is in critical condition.”
I thought all we had to hear was that babies
were removed fromincubators and left to die, like
the supposed events that sparked Gulf War I, and
the U.S. would smash the perpetrators. But now,
Israel’s bombing of hospitals already filled with the
dead and dying barely earns a shrugged shoulder.
Morality devolves into nothingness when it comes
to the illustrious Israelis.
Congress has even passed pro-Israel resolutions
and repeated the tiresome cadence that “Israel has
a right to defend itself.” But nobody has ever said
that Israel doesn’t have that right. It’s just thatwhat
Israel is doing is an offensive operation when
viewed in its totality. And it is terrorismof the very
worst kind.
Using the criteria normally cited to justify a U.S.
military response, any other nation dishing out Israel’s
brand of cruelty would taste the explosive
might of Washington—any other nation except
America’s “best ally.”
In a different reality, the interventionist federal
government would send forces to topple Israel’s
leadership, as it didwith the “villains” of Libya, Iraq
and Yugoslavia. But not only can Israel commit
crimes far worse than the “crimes” committed by
those nations’ past leaders, Israel also has totally
avoided sending its forces to help the U.S.military
crush Israel’s supposed Middle East enemies.
Thus, Israel’s cowardice goes full circle—from
crushing innocents to not supplying troops to aid
U.S. forces, even while the U.S. protects Israel
around the clock, kills its enemies and sends it billions
in annual aid.
This AFP writer must confess, this is the one
and only time where U.S. military intervention
seems justified—to stop Israel now. But unfortunately
for Palestine, that reality is not ours.

In reference to the article in the July 14

do we need to cut off all funds to the
UN, get out of that organization, and get

It is true that there is a problem with

I could think of no one better than a
group of mild-mannered librarians to represent
us when educating average Americans
about governmental overreach. Most
Americans are totally clueless about the
power federal authorities wield today.
Most believe the feds are only out to get
the bad guys, not the rest of us who are
minding our own business.
I can only say that I hope more regular
people stand up to the demands of a growing
totalitarian government like these four
upstanding citizens.

LEAST BAD OPTION?
AFP writer Victor Thorn notes, “Hillary
must be stopped.” I can’t stand her, either,
but I suggest that Thorn and your readers
ponder that the alternative to her may be
far worse.
Assuming she survives a primary challenge,
and assuming there is no credible
third-party candidate (possibly a quite incorrect
assumption), I ask AFP readers:
Who would you prefer to be president,
Hillary or Jeb Bush, the latter of whom
would, like his two other family members,
undoubtedly lead America into yet more
wars? At least under President Bill Clinton,
there was no war and an authentic budget
surplus.
One need not likeMrs. Clinton as a person
to recognize that she is the “least dangerous”
of the major candidates in contention
thus far. One can hope she will have a
solid primary challenge, and also hope a viable
third-party candidate arises. But if not,
we will be stuck with her as the “least bad”
option.

PRINCIPLES OF JUSTICE
Ben Franklin is reported to have said,
“We have given you a republic—if you can
keep it.” Can we keep it if we continually
allow obvious hypocrisy, duplicity, pandering,
greed, injustice, egoism and support
of terror by the elected politicians?
The answer is, “No.”
It may be that the world is seeing a nation
whose reason for being is past. However,
there are those of us who believe that
we can regain our importance by returning
to some principles that made this nation
great.
America’s greatness came fromstrength
of character developed by dedication to
rights and responsibility—not from surrender
to drugs, booze, perversion and
“anything goes.” To regain respect and
leader- ship status, we now, as in 1776,
must establish and live by principles of justice
for all peoples.

DON’T BLAME HIM FOR EVERYTHING
In AFP’s interview with Rev. Jesse Lee
Peterson [in the Feb. 24 edition], he, like
others of his kind, blames the president for
not addressing the social and economic
conditions of many black Americans.
In case Peterson and others like him
have forgotten, President Barack Obama is
the president of the United States of America,
which includes black Americans.
Obama doesn’t have unlimited authority to
enact any social programs that benefit one
group over another.
Black Americans, to a large degree,
have only themselves to blame for their
socio-economic conditions. All too often,
they’ve failed to avail themselves of the educational
opportunities this country offers.
Social programs, like welfare and federal
rental assistance, have provided muchneeded
assistance, but they’ve also failed
the recipients by not making demands on
them to educate themselves to improve
their lifestyles. Too many black parents
haven’t been proactive enough in their children’s
lives to instill in them that just getting
by is not good enough; you need to
strive to be the best that you can be.

locked out of the White House, we asked him in an interview what
he was thinking. He replied, “I thought, darn, they found my birth certificate.”
