The video below is currently going viral on the internet. It allegedly shows a triangular-shaped aircraft hovering over a Taliban position and firing a deadly volley of high explosives. It was reportedly filmed in eastern Afghanistan city of Asadabad by U.S. Marines in March of this year.
Rumors have circulated for years about the existence of secret military aircraft with advanced aviation capabilities. The alleged craft in the video resembles the experimental Aurora, a black project aircraft dismissed as conjecture by the military. In the late 1980s aerospace industry observers declared the Pentagon had the technological capability to build a Mach-5 replacement for the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, an advanced, long-range, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft.
The aircraft pictured in the video, however, appears to hover over the target, a capability not attributed to the Aurora, said to be a high speed reconnaissance aircraft like its supposed predecessor.
Another possible candidate is the TR-3A, aka Black Mantra, a subsonic aircraft with a flying wing design. There is little evidence this aircraft exists. However, in 1977, Teledyne Ryan, a company specializing in building unmanned reconnaissance aircraft now owned by Northrop Grumman, published a patent for an aircraft closely resembling the TR-3A. It is theorized the “TR” in TR-3A is short for Teledyne Ryan.
The TR-3A “doesn’t exist officially,” explains a post on Military.com, a web portal for U.S. military members. “It uses highly pressured mercury accelerated by nuclear energy to produce a plasma that creates a field of anti-gravity around the ship. Conventional thrusters located at the tips of the craft allow it to perform all manner of rapid high speed maneuvers along all three axes. Interestingly, the plasma generated also reduces radar signature significantly. So it’ll be almost invisible on radar & remain undetected. This literally means that it can go to any country it likes without being detected by air traffic control & air defense systems.”
The video below allegedly shows a test flight of the TR-3A:
