Radiation Research Trust alert Political leaders to the dangers of wireless technology

Radiation Research Trust alert Political leaders to the dangers of wireless technology

Eileen O’Connor Director for the UK Radiation Research Trust recently returned from meeting with Mr John F Ryan Acting Director for public health at the European Commission and was joined by her colleague Emergency Medicine Doctor Erica Mallerly-Blyth. The door to the EU Commission is now open following a two hour discussion about the dangers associated with wireless technology.
Determined to alert UK political leaders to this serious issue, Eileen recently attended Business Hustings in Liverpool and met with MPs and Ministers to raise concerns regarding serious dangers associated with public health in connection with increasing levels of EM radiation from exposures to mobile phones, phone masts, ipads, wifi, baby monitors and smart meters etc. while highlighting the fact that the World Health Organisation’s cancer committee, IARC has officially classified the entire RF – EMF Spectrum as a 2B or “possible human carcinogen.” In addition the UK Department of Health is quietly advising children under 16 to use mobile phones for essential calls only and the Stewart Report advised against placing phone masts near schools and yet children are now forced to attend schools full of wifi radiation and to use wireless enabled tablets which is a total contradiction to official Department of Health and Government advice. Eileen also called for a halt to the current smart meter rollout that is already underway saying ‘it will be a costly mistake.’
Rt Hon Esther McVey Conservative MP Minister of State for Employment accepted a copy of the Radiation Research Trust Smart Meter, Smarter Practices report and has agreed to meet with the Radiation Research Trust in the near future. Eileen informed Ester McVey that many people have become extremely sick following the installation of wireless smart meters in the US, Canada and Australia.
She continued to call on Ministers to listen to independent experienced scientists such as Professor Yuri Grigoriev, Honorary Chairman of Russian National Committee on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection, he is also a member of the Advisory Committee of WHO on EMF and Health. Professor Grigoriev was called upon to help contain the Chernobyl disaster after accumulating 40 years’ experience before the failure in Chernobyl. He said, “Ionizing radiation is monitored with safety systems in place to contain and control and prevent overexposure. The current proliferation of wireless frequencies is worse as levels of non-ionizing radiation are constantly increasing and ubiquitous; it is out of control. Professor Grigoriev is not alone in this call for urgent attention, especially for children and those suffering with electrosensitivity. Many doctors, scientists and NGO’s throughout the globe are calling for this issue to be given urgent attention while calling for protection for most vulnerable. It is estimated between 3% to 5% of people are suffering with electrosensitivity and some are severely debilitated and completely isolated from society, many who can no longer work due to sensitivity to this form of radiation.
Luciana Berger Labour MP, Shadow Minster for Public Health said ‘she is involved with issues surrounding energy and this was the first she had heard about this issue and agreed to meet with the Radiation Research Trust in the near future to discuss these issues in more detail.’
Liberal Democrat MP Jo Swinson, Minister for Employment and Consumer Affairs and equalities said she was not aware of this area of research and agreed that people with health issues need to be accommodated and that people should be helped and supported in the workplace.
Attending a Business Hustings event held by the Liverpool & Sefton Chambers of Commerce at the Princess Royal Suite in Aintree Racecourse on 19th March, 2015 - Eileen met with Labour MP Bill Esterson and Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Valerie Allen. Bill Esterson said that he is aware of this issue after receiving information from the Radiation Research Trust during his term in Parliament and agreed that this issue could come to the forefront over the next decade, he also said that he is aware that the phone industry offer advice in the small print to customers to keep phones away from your body. Eileen presented Bill Esterson MP with a copy of the EM Radiation Research Trust Smart Meters, Smarter Practices report and he agreed to give this report to his colleague Luciana Berger MP, Shadow Minster for Public Health. Valerie Allen requested a copy of the Radiation Research Trust report and said that she would like to help protect the lives of future generations.
The Radiation Research Trust look forward to discussing this issue with UK political leaders in more detail and call for immediate and urgent attention to be given towards protecting public health as a matter of urgency. The Radiation Research Trust also congratulate Liverpool& Sefton Chamber of Commerce for providing members with an invaluable opportunity to attend a round table discussion with politicians while encouraging members to openly debate with parliamentary representatives designed to help shape the future.
