fyi .. I wonder why we all worked to hard to stop NAFTA, when it was a done deal. We held local, state and national meetings, marches, dissected the NAFTA Manuals. Report, records kept. We fought so hard against it. And yet to me the media, our Congress knew it was a signed agreement. So did Ross Perot and we were used by all. Although Clinton signed it, became a international agreement with the three countries before it was passed by our US Congress.
Credit should be given to not only Clinton, but the one who started it all, Ex-President George H. Bush
On December 17, 1992 in San Antonio, TX, US President George H. Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and Mexican President Carlos Salinas, each responsible for spearheading and promoting the NAFTA Agreement, ceremonially signed it.
In the US, Bush "fast tracked" the signing prior to the end of his term, ran out of time and had to pass the ratification and signing into US law to incoming President Bill Clinton.
