Crash NOT Credible Accident or Suicide

Crash NOT Credible Accident or Suicide

You have heard of the Christmas Crotch Bomber, do we now have the "Piss Break Plunger?"

By Robert Hanson

Last night, after consulting with team members, I broke the story of Flight 9525 on the Rense Radio Network.  Not only was this no accident, it wasn’t a suicide either.  This is a “fly by wire” jet.  International convention required this plane to have certain anti-hijacking safeguards.  One of them, complicated by German pig-headedness, left a co-pilot alone in a cockpit, something illegal in the US.

As humorist Rob Hanson points, out, what kind of plan figures a pilot can’t make two hours without a bathroom break?  It all falls apart here, I hope you see it.  Thank you Robert Hanson, the blind will lead us out of the wilderness.

There is nothing about yesterday’s crash of Germanwings 9525, a two hour shuttle flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf that can believed.  Were this one crash, we might begin to accept what we expect, lies and deceit, but it isn’t one crash.  This is the third?  Are there more?  Planes disappear, they are shot down by non-existent missiles seen by satellites suddenly disabled and radar that has conveniently failed, up to 15 independent systems.

Then again, there is the human factor.  Is the “Charlie” episode, equally tragic-farcical a type of plane crash, clearly not-so-impromptu street theatre, so much like the Boston event or Sandy Hook or London or Madrid, where these carelessly staged plays are acted out before a public increasingly incredulous to it all.

If you think this is a tragedy or something a bit unusual, perhaps odd, you aren’t paying attention.  They have so much more of this planned.  You are being punished.  From Netanyahu’s infamous “Fink’s Bar diatribe” of 1990:

“If we get caught they will just replace us with persons of the same cloth. So it does not matter what you do, America is a golden calf and we will suck it dry, chop it up, and sell it off piece by piece until there is nothing left but the world’s biggest welfare state that we will create and control. Why? Because it is the will of God and America is big enough to take the hit so we can do it again and again and again. This is what we do to countries that we hate. We destroy them very slowly and make them suffer for refusing to be our slaves.”  (Credit to the Defense Intelligence Agency of the United States Department of Defense)

We all knew this one was coming, coinciding with so many events, the meltdown of Kolomoisky and his thugs in Ukraine.  20,000 Iranian troops are engaged in battle around Tikrit, now under a carefully coordinated American air umbrella, an American now closely aligned in war alongside Syria and Iran.

A few hundred miles away, a Saudi led coalition prepares to enter Yemen on behalf of the Islamic State/Al Qaeda coalition being held off by Iranian backed Houthi militias.

More from Rense

Reading the tale of French air traffic controllers watching 9525 plunge inexorably ground ward is equally incredulous.  This plane has a remote, satellite initiated fly by wire system.  You see, 150 passengers and crew are one thing.  Crashing a plane into a hospital, stadium or nuclear power plant, such as the ones directly under 9525’s flight path, is reason to initiate through satellite the Raython system.

Did the French forget it existed?  Oh, did we tell you that the same system that can automatically land planes can crash them as well?  Did we mention that the source code for the system is “less than secure” and that a nation known for cyber attacks, China, Russia, Israel or even the United States, is quite capable of taking control of any airliner at any time and plunging it into anything at all?

What is even better is that no investigator can legally mention this, no reporter can write of it, no one can admit such a system exists though any idiot with the money to buy a couple of drinks at an airport bar can find out.  Pilots gossip like nobody’s business.

We can go further, we can tell you exactly how it works, what frequencies, how airports are selected and how a covert system meant to protect air passengers from tragedies like this and the rest of us from having hundreds of tons of aluminum and body parts dropped on our heads, is updated and patched.

If You Thought This Was Enough

Last night we brought something else out on Rense.  DARPA, the American version of the famous “Q” branch of James Bond films, was tasked in 2010 to build a robot destroyer, a 100 plus foot long ship that could hunt down diesel nuclear armed subs.

You see, back in 2001 one such sub, a German built diesel sub fired a cruise missile into a building a few miles from the Capitol in Washington DC.  The missile skimmed across the Potomac, its every move watched by AEGIS defense ships off Maryland and New Jersey, monitored by Dick Cheney who had ordered the JLens backed defense system which doesn’t exist.

Accidents Do Happen

We have accidents, we have suicides and then we have events that continually violate statistical probabilities at “trillions to one” levels.  This is no suicide, it is a revenge attack perpetrated by a national intelligence agency.  You will never know what it is revenge for, what it warns of or who it is intended to leverage.

You will never know, not this time, not 9/11, not “Charlie,” not any of it.  Don’t try to figure it out.  There is an issue of access.  I can speak personally of this to a point.  I remember a meeting maybe 18 months ago.  I had been getting briefings, private, official, from all the “smart people.”  Then I got on the ground, and is so often the case, realized immediately that everyone who thought they knew things, the CIA, the Rand Corporation, the CFR, were simply making it all up.

They knew nothing at all.

Have any of you ever used a satellite telephone?  Do you know where to buy one?  Could you pass the credit check to set up an account?  How do you charge the battery in a country where only 2% of the nation has electricity?

Do you use the cig plug in your $85,000 Toyota pickup truck with a $300,000 anti-aircraft gun mounted on the back?  Then again, you don’t have the money to buy tennis shoes.

And so it goes…

On 1934-3-24 the german reichstag passed the Ermächtigungsgesetz, which gave Adolf Rotschild-Schicklgruber (“Hitler”) unlimited power for unlimited time; perhaps a Jewish “declaration of war” was a reaction to that, but then this war was another “drole de guierre” since he was not fought, on the contrary: the organised german Jews did their best to debunk the slander that their country’s fuehrer was allegedly not so nice.

66 years later – a funny number for fun events – the german chancellor (social “democrat”) Gerhard Schroeder declared war against the old nazi target Yugoslavia. THIS war was fought, immediately, and ended when a satan from Finland, “peace” nobelnik Ahtisaari, threatened YU with total destruction.

Yes, NWO, I agree with you. You can read anything you want into all these false flag operations but really, Israel and the US aren’t very smart. They just think we’re all so very stupid. Unfortunately, too many Americans are too gullible and fall for all these lies, hence the reason they continue. This is TOTAL pay back. Japan’s nuclear bomb and subsequent tsunami, take your pick of reasons, hundreds of dead Norwegian children, the London bombings and Spain’s. Bali, Australia, all countries that stood up for the Palestinians or against Israeli banksters. Malaysian plane disasters for Kuala Lampur’s court findings on the Bush/Cheney/Blair wars.     Most likely an AWACS-type hijack. Very interesting detail, that just a day before a “suicide”, there was a profound maintenance made to the plane and the most interesting is, that they even changed or installed a new electronic system into the plane. This was told in the scandinavian radio, but the mainstream hasnt mencioned it at all.

There are many US bases in north Italy, just near the border and such a coincidence, that there was one Pentagon agent (geospacial inteligencia by satellites) Yvonne Selke in the plane, as many other mossads as well.

The date is also very interesting. 24 of March is some beast feast day according to a satanic calendar AND- THE WORLD JEWRY DECLARED A WAR TO GERMANY 24 OF MARCH IN 1933. Oh yes….

Some other blogger (Jim Stone) claims Germanwings 9525 was being accompanied by two French fighter jets during its 8 minute descent and brutal impact. Anyone heard anything more about this aspect? Sheer speculation? Or a missing link? Remember, France has long been a Freemasonic basket case.

Calm breathing, and no vocalizations, by the relatively young co-pilot as the immovable Alps fast approach? Pull the other one!

Which satellites are specifically tasked to relay the signals that can control these fly-by-wire passenger aircraft? Who owns them? Because those Owners (and I don’t give a damn how important they think they are) are now accessories to mass murder. You all understand the import of this?

Chip Tatum mentioned a mind control drug called Ayusca, I think. It comes from the flowers of a tree from Columbia that now grows in California and likely Israel with its warm climate. Vice TV has a video about it.

According to the write ups you just blow powder from this plant on someone and then suggest that they do something and they will not only unwittingly do it, they will forget what they have done it immediately afterwards.

There is also a very interesting U tube video from British TV where an actor is hypnotized to such an extent that he goes into a theatre and shoots someone in the audience on demand and then he forgets he has done it.

The above two scenarios might explain the very calm manner and relaxed manner in which the

dirtus napus  March 27, 2015 at 6:01 am

        Yup, Scopolamine…..

Ted is spot on too. I’ve studied these things much farther than anyone who finds it very easy to stay in their box filled with satellites, and hacker frequencies, and “Q’s” down in the basement of MI6. You don’t need any of these infinitely complex scenarios and absolutely perfectly timed black ops anymore. Seems it’s easier to believe the old way of doing things is more convenient and you can mock anyone who doesn’t believe it by telling them they’re learning to read between the lines. I’ve got one? Whenever someone just took “time off” from work and disappeared for a while, it means something totally different to me. Kingman, Arizona anyone? Old war/world thinking keeps some in the same predictable box that’s full of the wrong reasons.

Thanks for correcting me on the name of the drug guys. My memory doesn’t work as well as it used to, but if the information on the internet about this stuff is accurate, the stuff certainly makes it very easy for an intelligence service to get a guy like the copilot to kill himself and crash an aircraft.

Could this be the CIA’s revenge against Germany for breaking ranks by being a founding member of the AIIB??? Can you really blame Germany after the FED has refused to give Germany their rightful gold back likely because it’s MISSING??? The AIIB situation has TPTB in the USSA awfully pissed. The creation of this bank is the death knell of US influence. It is a vote of no-confidence in the US-backed World Bank and the US petrodollar and a nod to the economic stability of China. Germany, France, and Italy are following the lead of Great Britain which has already joined the AIIB. Australia is considering joining as well. Japan and other Asian nations are giving it some thought. I expect many other European nations will jump ship soon…

This financial shift is key to understanding the myriad of events unfolding in political, financial and military positions right now.

It is very similar to watching the last rounds of a heavyweight boxing match, whereby the exhausted champion is knocked out by the younger challenger.

The controls and flows of global cash are now being moved into new sectors and the pernicious scum who once ran the deal are going to eat the shit sandwich for a change.

This act is one of the last blows flung out recklessly by a lost cause.
        NavyBrat  March 27, 2015 at 2:33 pm

For me, this is the most plausible scenerio. A message is being sent to Frau Merckel, who has been displaying too much non-compliance of late; A peace deal in Ukraine, joining the AIIB, not giving anything to Greece and so forth. This all runs counter to official bank policy. This is just further implementation of Operation Gladio, with any high value targets on the flight being merely bonus.

A most elegant title, I am envious. The whole idea that this or the Egyptian episode were suicides is transparent BS. Depression quite simply does not work like that, a job is like a have, a refuge, respite, it is the time alone with your own thoughts that is testing. I watched Merkel’s presser after they brought this out and it seemed obvious to me that her words, while playing lip service to the nonsense they are going with it was clear to me that Merkel’s remarks were addressed to the Cabal behind this terror attack. They are at a desperate and crazy phase of their demise it seems. Also very interesting that a Bozze Allen Hamilton employee Yvonne Selke was on board, . Good job Gordon , someone actually needs to bring an end to the operations of this group quite urgently in my opinion.

A quote from Colonel Bearden seems pertinent:
    _____________________

“Remember Captain Button, flying his A-10 Warthog toward the range, suddenly peeled away from his companions and flew off cross country for over an hour? He ignored all radio messages, circled at one point (probably dropped his ordnance there), then flew until he crashed into the side of a mountain and was killed.

That was a deliberate test in the mid-U.S. to demonstrate that a human could be controlled for one hour, while doing a technical set of tasks (flying an airplane), in a hypnogogic state, successfully. The test was a total success.”

I think some of the “principals” involved, as well as those carrying out these plots, need to be I.D.’d and then targeted. Yes, they may be replaced by others of the “same cloth” but if they keep being eliminated, eventually they won’t have replacements or their methods won’t get passed on because there is no one left to pass anything along. It’s been too treacherous on their side, and far too ethical and civilized on our side.

Bush 2 talked about “the gloves coming off”, Cheney about going to the “Dark-Side”, they weren’t talking about the enemy so much as about the citizens, us, being used, abused, lied to, manipulated, etc., all this was kicked up several notches after those statements.

While all are reminded of that, remember what that pilot did to the fuel controls as well. On the way down too! Furthermore, look into JFK Jr’s fuel problems ON THE WAY DOWN too. And a bunch of other suspicious crashes where the fuel valve was shut off, and then look at what it takes to do that in flight? No crash can turn those valves. But……I’m still learning to read between the lines…..

Well. I get the scariest search is the search for the people who Must know what they are doing, and it always ends with that realization that it all just happens and there really is no person who Knows, but the specific item released involved a guy breathing but not saying anything in the cockpit as the plane went down, like the private plane flown by Larry Glazer into the Carribean. Is the initial report false or is there a way to disable the copilot ? or was it a murder suicide with the copilot as conspirator ? its all just too much work, but access is not limited to physical. 8 minutes is a long time tit for tat extends and leads to escalation, the people are the hope but it will take time

Putting a plane into an uncontrollable tailspin takes a matter of seconds, not hours or even minutes. There’s no system that can prevent it, satellite based or otherwise. How would such a system know the difference between a fast maneuver to avoid an errant Cessna versus an errant suicidal copilot with a death wish for 16 German kids? It could not.

As for getting the pilot out of the cabin, there’s always the “hot chick in seat 16A who just passed me this note that she’d like to meet you” scam…….. and about 50 other methods.

the system has limitations…can’t land in over 30 knot crosswinds….but not much else.
    Dan  March 26, 2015 at 6:14 pm

These events don’t violate the methods of stochastic or logical probability, but rather are exposed by the latter as unlikely in the extreme. I can’t find data for my ideas on the proper reference class for this pilot’s supposed suicide, but my gut feeling is that on the evidence so far presented the story is unlikely to be true. I think it would be unwise to point fingers based on what little we know so far, even against countries and people that have denounced Germany and Germans and threatened them with annihilation.

“now we are communicating.” the suicide theory is pretty weak.
no pee break, no crash; have to wait for another random flight? nothing of value on the CVR, as useless as the alleged recorder from UA93. A glide slope under someone’s control, when a dive to terrain might have accomplished the objective. No reaction from ATC’s when the plane veers of course? Etc. I realize I am keeping it simple when it is much more complex; trifles, as they say. But, as Dickens said, “trifles are the sum of life.” Charles, not Jimmy.

Why did no one of the passengers make a phone call, as with United Airlines Flight 93?

Not really a suicide, no. But the fly by wire explanation doesn’t work either, not if accounts are correct that the copilot was breathing normally and not responding to the frantic knocks from the pilot. What might account for this aspect of things? Perhaps remote control of a different sort….

The cockpit door could have been remotely locked while the co-pilot was on a bathroom break . What kind of security plan would not allow for the possibility of anyone having to answer a call-of-nature at any time ?

        > the copilot was breathing normally and not responding

Au contraire. Sitting there O(10′), breathing NORMALLY, not
uttering any whisper/word/etc.; listening what is going behind
the door?! Are you kidding?! It’s even physiologically normally
IMPOSSIBLE [have studied 2x semesters physiology], unless you are
        somehow drugged.

Notice that very likely (I am pressed right now, can’t research)
the A320 was coming from Germany. Refilling, quick checks,
reloading, reprogramming and so forth and then back. To get the
idea, pilots, even on shorter routes, can’t eat nor drink as it
please them. If I am not mistaken they can’t even eat anything
similar and never from the same (aircraft) source anyway to avoid
that some food poisoning symptoms may manifest in synchrony. So
        their *input* is relatively constrained.

        Rest

Monstrous NATO Depleted Uranium Bombings Decimating Serbia

Monstrous NATO Depleted Uranium Bombings Decimating Serbia

The growing cancer rates in Serbia are part of the untold legacy of the Yugoslav wars.
The use of depleted uranium munitions by NATO in Kosovo and adjoining areas facilitated a dramatic jump in cancer incidence in central parts of Serbia.
A pertinent report released in 2014 also revealed a notable increase in the number of patients with malignant tumors, according to Slobodan Cekaric, the head of the Serbian Society Against Cancer, told Sputnik.
Lymph node cancer incidences between 1999 and 2012 also rose 80 percent, with terminal cases showing an eleven percent rise.
Other cancer-induced diseases are also on the rise both among men and women. Cancer is one of the main causes of death around the globe, claiming eight million human lives annually.
However, malignant diseases in Serbia have grown at a higher rate than in Western Europe, increasing year to year, Serbian doctors said.
Professor Cekaric feared 2015 could bring about a new wave of cancer victims.
According to expert estimates, in 2013 and 2014 alone, cancer incidences in Kosovo, now free from the “Serbian diktat”, rose a hefty 57 percent.
“If this trend is maintained, Serbia will have 5,500 registered cancer patients per million residents compared to just 2,000 per million elsewhere in the world,” Slobodan Cekaric said.
An estimated 15,000 tons of depleted uranium were dropped on Serbia during NATO’s 1999 bombing campaign. Two months after the bombings, Greek experts registered a nearly 30 percent jump  in radioactivity levels, much more than what is necessary to cause cancer and genetic permutations resulting in the birth of physically and mentally retarded children.

Insider News Reveals Second Oil Crash Coming

Insider News Reveals Second Oil Crash Coming

Second Oil Price Crash Predicted by Insider News Oil producers and investors started to breathe a little easier recently.
Crude oil prices touched their lowest closing level in six years last week, then rallied on the back of a weakening U.S. dollar.
The strength of the dollar started to diminish after the Federal Reserve indicated that rates won’t rise any time soon.
Many optimists are expecting oil prices to continue to rise. But that’s just wishful thinking.
You see, I’m in Hong Kong right now, and my contacts have revealed some startling facts…

The Catastrophic Reality

The truth is, we may be on the verge of another price collapse that’s likely to occur in the second quarter.
Inventories are continuing to rise, and storage tanks are close to capacity. With nowhere for the oil to go, suppliers will likely flood the market, which could cause a plunge in prices that will force the industry to lower production.
That will be the point of capitulation.
This might seem like an outrageous prediction, but the chance of such a scenario taking place isn’t far-fetched when you consider the factors that may precipitate such an event.
Inventories can only climb if one of two things are occurring: Either less oil is being consumed or too much is being produced.
Well, both of these factors are at play concurrently right now.
The latest figures coming out of Cushing, Oklahoma show that capacity is between 60% and 75%. Early last year, the daily figures were half that.
At the current rate of production and consumption, capacity is estimated to be reached by the end of May.
Smaller producers are making the situation more difficult by producing even more in an effort to try to capture hedges while premiums still exist. Hedges can be put on for 2016 at premiums of up to $10 more than current spot prices. And when you have debt to service, any increase in projected cash flows is critical.
To further exacerbate the situation, oil is priced in dollars. And as the dollar strengthens, the price weakens.
There is also a wildcard that could spur a short-term rise in prices. Rebels have toppled Yemen’s government and Saudi Arabia started employing defense tactics. Yemen’s proximity to Saudi Arabia could be perceived as a threat to oil production, sparking a temporary rise in demand and prices.
But the insider story that could fill storage to capacity comes from 8,000 miles away in China…

The Last Straw

My sources in Hong Kong, who are connected to major players on the mainland, are indicating that the slowdown in China may be even greater than the official numbers.
China’s “official” growth rate fell to 7.4% in 2014, the lowest in 25 years. But other sources are saying it will be lower.
The International Monetary Fund is projecting growth to come in at 6.8% in 2014. Analysts from Oxford Economics, a well-respected consulting firm that covers global markets with the likes of Accenture (ACN), are calling for growth to come in at 6%.
China’s own economic leadership estimates that growth must be at least 7% to maintain adequate employment for a growing work force. I’m sure the official numbers from China will be above 7%, but those numbers shouldn’t be trusted.
As China’s economy slows, the country will demand less oil. The resulting excess oil could fill storage tanks to capacity.
That will be the point of capitulation, which provides excellent entry points across the investing spectrum.
As we all know, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) could provide some relief for prices if it culled production. But just a few days ago, OPEC reiterated its goal of continuing to produce at current levels until another country curtails production first.
Saudi Arabia seems firm in its plan and is not open to negotiating. Last week, the Algerians tried to convene a summit to discuss prices… but only Angola showed up. Last month, the Nigerians wanted a meeting of OPEC members, but the idea was squashed by the Saudis.
Everyone is feeling the pain, but we’re not yet at the point where the pain is significant enough to spur the major players into action. When the price begins to trade south of $40 for a sustained period, we may start to see movement to curtail production globally.
The risk to oil prices is still tilted to the downside, and investors should be keeping their powder dry at this point.
And the chase continues,

Saudi Failure in Yemen Will Result in Direct U.S. Military Intervention

Saudi Failure in Yemen Will Result in Direct U.S. Military Intervention
Gulf Emirate Sunni coalition does not have the ability to defeat Shia Houthi militias

The corporate media is attempting to push the narrative that the Gulf Emirate attack against Shia Houthi militias in Yemen is about restoring the “the legitimate government of Yemen,” as Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, said Wednesday.

The ambassador’s remarks serve as a thinly veiled cover for the real objective for the attack on Yemen — taking control of one of seven strategic world oil shipping chokepoints. The removal of sitting President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi from power by the Houthi militias threatened this control. It also potentially increases Iranian influence in Yemen and the Gulf of Aden and the Strait of Bab el-Mandab where more than 10 percent of the world’s seaborne petroleum passes.

F. William Engdahl explains:

An excuse for a US or NATO militarization of the waters around Bab el-Mandab would give Washington another major link in its pursuit of control of the seven most critical oil chokepoints around the world, a major part of any future US strategy aimed at denying oil flows to China, the EU or any region or country that opposes US policy.

On Thursday the United States confirmed it is supporting Saudi military operations underway in Yemen.

National Security Council spokesperson Bernadette Meehan said:

In support of [Gulf Cooperation Council] actions to defend against Houthi violence, President Obama has authorized the provision of logistical and intelligence support to GCC-led military operations. While U.S. forces are not taking direct military action in Yemen in support of this effort, we are establishing a Joint Planning Cell with Saudi Arabia to coordinate U.S. military and intelligence support.

In other words the US launched a proxy war to regain control of Yemen.

On Thursday Egypt said it is prepared to send troops. Egypt has the largest army in the Arab world. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi provided cover for Egypt’s participation in the operation by saying his country must “fulfill the calls of the Yemeni people for the return of stability and the preservation of the Arab identity.”

In addition to helping the Gulf Emirates — and the United States — maintain control of the Gulf of Aden and the Strait of Bab el-Mandab, the remark by el-Sisi about “preservation of the Arab identity” is an allusion to preventing Iranian influence in the region.
Hot War Between Sunni and Shia Islam

The establishment media in the West has correctly identified the coalition arrayed against Shia militias in Yemen — including Egypt, Morocco, Sudan and Jordan — as a Sunni undertaking.

For now, the US and the UK are on the sidelines. If, however, the Saudis fail to reinstall Abdurabu Mansour Hadi’s government in Sanaa or create a situation in the country favorable to the global financial elite, the US and Britain will undoubtedly intervene.

The British Foreign Office is said to be considering a direct military role and the United States is currently “coordinating military and intelligence support” for the Sunni operation.

IHS Jane’s Intelligence Weekly says “Saudi Arabian and other Arab League ground forces are ill-placed to support the reinstatement of President Abdurabu Mansour Hadi’s government in Sanaa without a high-risk commitment to taking on the Houthi in their mountainous homeland in north Yemen” and will likely use Yemeni proxies on the ground supported by Arab coalition — and eventually US and British — airstrikes.

“The success of a Saudi ground force intervention against the Houthi would be far from guaranteed, and also likely to prove highly costly for the Saudis, as well as increase domestic instability risks,” writes Firas Abi Ali.
Saudi Arabia Known for Numerous Foreign Policy Failures

“Saudi Arabia believed that it had allies in Yemen but they turned against its initiative and today it is incapable of military intervention and is just watching the begetting of a new entity in Yemen,” writes Saudi activist and renowned academic, Dr. Madawi Al-Rashid.

This inability and the dismal track record of Arab military success in the Middle East may ultimately result in a more direct military role by the United States and Britain.

US-Saudi Blitz into Yemen: Naked Aggression, Absolute Desperation

US-Saudi Blitz into Yemen: Naked Aggression, Absolute Desperation

Global Research, March 27, 2015
yemen-USA

The “proxy war” model the US has been employing throughout the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and even in parts of Asia appears to have failed yet again, this time in the Persian Gulf state of Yemen.
Overcoming the US-Saudi backed regime in Yemen, and a coalition of sectarian extremists including Al Qaeda and its rebrand, the “Islamic State,” pro-Iranian Yemeni Houthi militias have turned the tide against American “soft power” and has necessitated a more direct military intervention. While US military forces themselves are not involved allegedly, Saudi warplanes and a possible ground force are.
Though Saudi Arabia claims “10 countries” have joined its coalition to intervene in Yemen, like the US invasion and occupation of Iraq hid behind a “coalition,” it is overwhelmingly a Saudi operation with “coalition partners” added in a vain attempt to generate diplomatic legitimacy.
The New York Times, even in the title of its report, “Saudi Arabia Begins Air Assault in Yemen,” seems not to notice these “10” other countries. It reports:
Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday night that it had launched a military campaign in Yemen, the beginning of what a Saudi official said was an offensive to restore a Yemeni government that had collapsed after rebel forces took control of large swaths of the country.
The air campaign began as the internal conflict in Yemen showed signs of degenerating into a proxy war between regional powers. The Saudi announcement came during a rare news conference in Washington by Adel al-Jubeir, the kingdom’s ambassador to the United States.
Proxy War Against Iran
Indeed, the conflict in Yemen is a proxy war. Not between Iran and Saudi Arabia per say, but between Iran and the United States, with the United States electing Saudi Arabia as its unfortunate stand-in.
Iran’s interest in Yemen serves as a direct result of the US-engineered “Arab Spring” and attempts to overturn the political order of North Africa and the Middle East to create a unified sectarian front against Iran for the purpose of a direct conflict with Tehran. The war raging in Syria is one part of this greater geopolitical conspiracy, aimed at overturning one of Iran’s most important regional allies, cutting the bridge between it and another important ally, Hezbollah in Lebanon.
And while Iran’s interest in Yemen is currently portrayed as yet another example of Iranian aggression, indicative of its inability to live in peace with its neighbors, US policymakers themselves have long ago already noted that Iran’s influence throughout the region, including backing armed groups, serves a solely defensive purpose, acknowledging the West and its regional allies’ attempts to encircle, subvert, and overturn Iran’s current political order.
The US-based RAND Corporation, which describes itself as “a nonprofit institution that helps improve policy and decision making through research and analysis,” produced a report in 2009 for the US Air Force titled, “Dangerous But Not Omnipotent : Exploring the Reach and Limitations of Iranian Power in the Middle East,” examining the structure and posture of Iran’s military, including its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and weapons both present, and possible future, it seeks to secure its borders and interests with against external aggression.
The report admits that:
Iran’s strategy is largely defensive, but with some offensive elements. Iran’s strategy of protecting the regime against internal threats, deterring aggression, safeguarding the homeland if aggression occurs, and extending influence is in large part a defensive one that also serves some aggressive tendencies when coupled with expressions of Iranian regional aspirations. It is in part a response to U.S. policy pronouncements and posture in the region, especially since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Iranian leadership takes very seriously the threat of invasion given the open discussion in the United States of regime change, speeches defining Iran as part of the “axis of evil,” and efforts by U.S. forces to secure base access in states surrounding Iran.
Whatever imperative Saudi Arabia is attempting to cite in justifying its military aggression against Yemen, and whatever support the US is trying to give the Saudi regime rhetorically, diplomatically, or militarily, the legitimacy of this military operation crumbles before the words of the West’s own policymakers who admit Iran and its allies are simply reacting to a concerted campaign of encirclement, economic sanctions, covert military aggression, political subversion, and even terrorism aimed at establishing Western hegemony across the region at the expense of Iranian sovereignty.
Saudi Arabia’s Imperative Lacks Legitimacy
26Yemen-articleLargeThe unelected hereditary regime ruling over Saudi Arabia, a nation notorious for egregious human rights abuses, and a land utterly devoid of even a semblance of what is referred to as “human rights,” is now posing as arbiter of which government in neighboring Yemen is “legitimate” and which is not, to the extent of which it is prepared to use military force to restore the former over the latter.
The United States providing support for the Saudi regime is designed to lend legitimacy to what would otherwise be a difficult narrative to sell. However, the United States itself has suffered from an increasing deficit in its own legitimacy and moral authority.
Most ironic of all, US and Saudi-backed sectarian extremists, including Al Qaeda in Yemen, had served as proxy forces meant to keep Houthi militias in check by proxy so the need for a direct military intervention such as the one now unfolding would not be necessary. This means that Saudi Arabia and the US are intervening in Yemen only after the terrorists they were supporting were overwhelmed and the regime they were propping up collapsed.
In reality, Saudi Arabia’s and the United States’ rhetoric aside, a brutal regional regime meddled in Yemen and lost, and now the aspiring global hemegon sponsoring it from abroad has ordered it to intervene directly and clean up its mess.
Saudi Arabia’s Dangerous Gamble
The aerial assault on Yemen is meant to impress upon onlookers Saudi military might. A ground contingent might also attempt to quickly sweep in and panic Houthi fighters into folding. Barring a quick victory built on psychologically overwhelming Houthi fighters, Saudi Arabia risks enveloping itself in a conflict that could easily escape out from under the military machine the US has built for it.
It is too early to tell how the military operation will play out and how far the Saudis and their US sponsors will go to reassert themselves over Yemen. However, that the Houthis have outmatched combined US-Saudi proxy forces right on Riyadh’s doorstep indicates an operational capacity that may not only survive the current Saudi assault, but be strengthened by it.
Reports that Houthi fighters have employed captured Yemeni warplanes further bolsters this notion revealing tactical, operational, and strategic sophistication that may well know how to weather whatever the Saudis have to throw at it, and come back stronger.
What may result is a conflict that spills over Yemen’s borders and into Saudi Arabia proper. Whatever dark secrets the Western media’s decades of self-censorship regarding the true sociopolitical nature of Saudi Arabia will become apparent when the people of the Arabian peninsula must choose to risk their lives fighting for a Western client regime, or take a piece of the peninsula for themselves.
Additionally, a transfer of resources and fighters arrayed under the flag of the so-called “Islamic State” and Al Qaeda from Syria to the Arabian Peninsula will further indicate that the US and its regional allies have been behind the chaos and atrocities carried out in the Levant for the past 4 years. Such revelations will only further undermine the moral imperative of the West and its regional allies, which in turn will further sabotage their efforts to rally support for an increasingly desperate battle they themselves conspired to start.
America’s Shrinking Legitimacy
It was just earlier this month when the United States reminded the world of Russia’s “invasion” of Crimea. Despite having destabilized Ukraine with a violent, armed insurrection in Kiev, for the purpose of expanding NATO deeper into Eastern Europe and further encircling Russia, the West insisted that Russia had and still has no mandate to intervene in any way in neighboring Ukraine. Ukraine’s affairs, the United States insists, are the Ukrainians’ to determine. Clearly, the US meant this only in as far as Ukrainians determined things in ways that suited US interests.
This is ever more evident now in Yemen, where the Yemeni people are not being allowed to determine their own affairs. Everything up to and including military invasion has been reserved specifically to ensure that the people of Yemen do not determine things for themselves, clearly, because it does not suit US interests.
Such naked hypocrisy will be duly noted by the global public and across diplomatic circles. The West’s inability to maintain a cohesive narrative is a growing sign of weakness. Shareholders in the global enterprise the West is engaged in may see such weakness as a cause to divest or at the very least a cause to diversify toward other enterprises. Such enterprises may include Russia and China’s mulipolar world. The vanishing of Western global hegemony will be done in destructive conflict waged in desperation and spite.
Today, that desperation and spite befalls Yemen.
